Age spots are usually brown spots that occurs on our skin as we grow old. It can appear anywhere on the skin and on any part of your body. These spots can be seen on the skin due to over secretion of melanin.

With the help of some effective home remedies these age spots can be treated in a natural way. They will lighten and your skin will be well nourished by using these simple home remedies.


  • Sugar And Lemon

These two ingredients are very good for the skin as lemon has bleaching agents that lightens the skin and sugar is a natural exfoliator that helps in cleaning up the skin surface and makes it glow. Take half a lemon and squeeze out its juice in a bowl. Now add 1 tsp of sugar to this lemon juice and mix well. Rub the mixture between your fingers and then scrub it on the area where you have dark spots. Rub it gently for atleast 2-3 minutes and then wash off with warm water. Repeat this remedy once or twice in a week to get rid of dark spots on your face and body.


  • Potato And Honey

Potato has bleaching power so when it is applied on the skin it lightens the skin tone. Honey gives a silky smooth glow to the skin and its antioxidant nature fights off free radicals preventing dark spots to form on the skin. Just grate some potato and place it in a bowl. Add 1 tsp of honey to it and apply it on the dark spots including your face. Let it dry and then wash off with normal water. Repeat this remedy 2-3 times in a week and you will see your dark spots getting lighter day by day.

  • Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has cooling properties and it is very good for the skin as it cures many skin problems. It nourishes the skin and gives it a smooth appearance. Take half cup of aloe vera gel and to this add 1 tbsp sugar and 2 tbsp lemon juice. Mix them well and then gently scrub this mixture on your face and other parts of the body where there are dark spots. Massage for 5 minutes and then wash off with clean water. Use this remedy 2-3 days in a week for a lighter complexion and beautiful skin.

  • Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a great exfoliator which treats the dark skin and takes away dark spots from the skin leaving behind glowing and soft skin. Take 2 tbsp of grounded oatmeal and add half tsp of turmeric, 1 tbsp of gram flour, 1 tsp of green tea and little water to form a paste. Mix them well and then apply this paste on the dark spots. Let it dry and wash off with normal water. You will get a soft and smooth skin within few weeks of its regular use. You can use this remedy twice a week to get a glowing skin.
